Music & The Arts

"Come let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1

WORSHIP TEAM

Scripture declares that God inhabits our praises. At Community Christian Center we believe that praise and worship are vital to the body of Christ. Therefore, we provide many opportunities to worship The Lord in Spirit and Truth. Whether it be with an instrument or by voice, God has called and anointed many to share His Word through music and lead His people into His glorious presence through the praise and worship of His Name.

SPECIAL MUSIC

God has anointed some singers and musicians to share His Word through music in the form of a concert. Anointed musicians from our own fellowship will also participate in blessing His Name and edifying the body through special music during our services.

OUTREACH

As we use our musical gifts to honor God there are many opportunities to exalt Him in the world. These opportunities may include home fellowships, nursing homes, mission trips, youth rallies, pro-life rallies and street evangelism, just to name a few. NOTE: Those who are interested in any or all of these music ministries should contact the church office or our music director for details.

DANCE MINISTRY

The Bible instructs us to praise the Lord in the dance. We have an adult dance team that meets most every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. to prepare themselves for dance ministry here in our services as well as in other outreach efforts, as the Lord directs. This ministry includes praise dance, worship and interpretive dance, banners, flags and streamers. There are specific guidelines available for those who would like to be involved in this ministry. Contact our dance team leader for more information.

DRAMA MINISTRY

Drama helps to bring the Scriptures to life for many people both in and outside the church. We use Drama as a tool both here and abroad. Our drama ministry is for all ages and drama is often used in our holiday productions, as well as for other events. There are specific guidelines available for those who would like to be involved in this ministry. Contact our music director for more information.

PUPPET MINISTRY

"One Heart Ministry" is a puppet ministry here at Community Christian Center. Young and old alike can be involved. Our Puppet Ministry is used for teaching, exhortation and evangelism both here and beyond these walls.

MULTIMEDIA

Our multimedia teams operate under the direction of our Deacon of Sound and Special Effects. These teams minister on a rotating schedule and the team members have a set of guidelines they must follow. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, need to set up rehearsals or for special programming, please contact our Deacon of Sound.

Missions & Outreach

EVANGELISM

Christ said, "Go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature..." We desire to bring the knowledge of Jesus Christ to the people of northwest central Ohio. It is our desire to equip you for the task and prayerfully provide creative opportunities such as picnics, luncheons, and evangelistic programs in order to help you reach out to family, co-workers and those around you in the community with the love and message of Christ. We have an activities committee that plans regular fellowship gatherings and the leadership is always looking for programs and ministries that present the gospel message in and out of our services.

MISSIONS

We are called by Christ to be the "salt of the earth", a "light to the world", and "fishers of men." This is an area we constantly pray for, and continue to seek the Lord as to how we can reach the lost. There are many worthy causes in which we could be involved. It is our desire to seek specifically where the Lord wants us to spend our time and resources. The following is a list of the missionary organizations we are currently supporting on a monthly basis.

Bethel Pro-Life Ministries  Jews for Jesus (Europe)
Brazilian Children's Outreach  Mission Possible (Haiti & Dominican Republic)
Campus Crusade for Christ (Ohio University)  OMS International, Inc. (Indonesia)
Campus Crusade for Christ (International)  WXML Radio FM 90.1
Campus Crusade for Christ (New Mexico State)   Wyandot Cares
 The Good Samaritan Fund

A wide variety of books, tapes and cd's, both audio and video, are also available in our church library which is located across the hall from the sanctuary. Check out procedures are posted on top of the card catalog file. We hope you will make use of these materials for your own spiritual growth as well as in your outreach efforts with others. Questions can be directed to our church librarian or the church office.

Children & Youth

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Prov. 22:6

NURSERY

Our Lord placed an important emphasis on the physical care and spiritual training of children and we at Community Christian Center want to do the same. Our servants are not just babysitters, but are ministering to your infants and young children. Your insights and involvement are always welcome. Our nurseries are located at the far east end of our north wing hall in Room #28.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

Continuing with the desire of ministering to the children, our goal is to equip the "young saints" with a Biblical foundation of the saving grace of Jesus Christ and help them to become faithful doers of the Word, applying it to every aspect of life. The complete Gospel message is conveyed with intent to inspire them to understand and apply God's Word to their lives. We strive for spiritual growth that is consistent with each individual age group and we seek to assist each family in its ability to nurture their children in the Lord.

YOUTH

Youth are faced with many decisions and tremendous influences from the world, flesh and peers. They need to know that there is an absolute standard in God's Word and that in Christ there is a life of meaning, power, and purpose. It is our desire to help them come into and grow in a relationship with Christ, as well as be strengthened through the fellowship of the church. We will help them to abide in Christ by encouraging them to maintain an intimate relationship with God based on His Word and we will help them to develop an attitude of service toward others for His glory. Our youth group consists of junior and senior high school students. They meet every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the youth room/fellowship hall. Our youth director can be reached through the church office.

Fellowship & Discipleship

"Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise." Proverbs 19:20

SMALL GROUP MINISTRIES

We would like to see many new groups formed with a specific purpose in mind. That purpose should be to strengthen the common ministry efforts of its members and to reach out together to the world that's around us. Some of our existing groups would include the worship team and The Daughters of Zion. If you have a desire to see a new group started, please present your idea to Pastor Bill or one of the elders. They will prayerfully consider what you share before we dive right in. This is for the protection of the body and its members.

PRAYER MINISTRIES

Prayer is a means of bringing us into conformity with what God wants. The praying person and church is concerned to do the will of God (I John 5:14). True prayer is never in our own strength or wisdom, but in the Spirit (Eph. 6:18) and a natural outworking of a right relationship to God in Christ. At Community Christian Center, we desire to abide in Christ and be dependant upon His leading and strength for all things. Our staff is always available for prayer and prayer requests. A prayer gathering is held in room #22 from 9:00-9:25 every Sunday morning before the service. We also have an emergency prayer chain that can be activated by calling the office or any elder's home.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING

The Bible has the answers to all human problems, whether financial, marital, or stemming from other behavior, substance or relationship difficulties. The sole source of information and guidance used in counseling here is the written Word of the Living God. When properly used, the Scriptures provide practical solutions. As the Holy Spirit uses God's Word, there is hope for even the most stubborn problems amidst the most difficult life circumstances. In Christ, there is freedom and wholeness from life-dominating sin. Pastoral counsel is available to all ages. Except for in the case of emergencies, appointments should be made in advance through the church office.

FELLOWSHIP GROUPS

Small group meetings are held at various times and locations throughout the week. These meetings include a time of praise and worship, prayer, Bible study, fellowship and ministry for everyone who wants it. See Sunday's bulletin for an updated list of times and locations or call the church office for the details.

DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES

Special classes are offered at prearranged times. Topics like Christian parenting, money management, communion with God, common care counseling, evangelism, Bible study methods and inner healing are covered in these classes. Course offering times are advertised well in advance through our weekly bulletin announcements.
